Kevin was born in Fort Worth, Texas. His family spent time in West Africa, China, and Minnesota before settling in California where he began playing Tuba at the age of 12. A few years later he demonstrated a natural ability on the Bass and he hasn’t stopped there. As a multi-instrumentalist he keeps a busy gigging and teaching schedule that has taken him all over North America and Europe.

Though his first love is Jazz, Kevin is versed in many music styles including blues, soul, funk, reggae, and gospel, and he is forever looking toward new frontiers in music.

Hi all. You can catch me at a couple gigs around Fresno weekly. Thursdays at Cafe Corazon with my lovely wife Alana as the ShapHill Duo from six to seven. Don’t forget the Dusty Buns bus will be serving up gourmet fresh local treats. Every Saturday is Three Bags Full at the Landmark on the corner of Broadway and Olive in the Tower District from nine til late. I’m thrilled to be going back into the studio with Karen Marguth for a couple more tracks on her upcoming albums. Lessons are filling in nicely but I have some spaces left and am currently accepting students. I’m also looking forward to some gigs with the Hotblood Orkestar in the coming months.
